Mark Buck is United Europe’s Founder and Managing Director. United Europe is a specialist travel wholesaler based in South Africa, servicing the needs of the South African retail trade.
Mark is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company. Under his management the expansion of the company has outstripped the general market tenfold. In Mark’s opinion, the ability to actually do what we set out to do, and not just say it, is what has made the company a modern day success story. The consolidation of its products and the narrow line of clients it chooses to sell to, has enabled the company to form strong bonds with both its suppliers and clients, which yield solid results for all involved.
Mark joined from Thompsons Holidays, a division of Cullinan Holdings, where he served as CEO and led the company through the turbulent financial crisis that started late 2008. Prior to Thompsons Holidays, he was the General Manager at Holiday Tours, a division of Holiday Holdings, where he presided over some of the highest turnover figures in the company’s history. Earlier in his career he served as a consultant in various roles at the Tourism Investment Corporation (Tourvest).
Mark holds an MBA from Bond University in Queensland, Australia and a B. Arts degree from Rhodes University.
